Letter from the Editor

Thank you for reading Ballard Street Poetry Journal. I hope that you will enjoy the selected poems both individually and as a collection. It is a daunting process to read though and choose pieces for each issue. It is also humbling and rewarding. Finding the order that best highlights the individual works and unifies them is a joy.

There is an overarching sense of searching in these works. Life can be a maddening search, whether looking for identity, history, or the right word. Answers aren't always forthcoming. Sometimes the best we can hope for is to know that we are not searching alone, as Kenneth Pobo writes, "I too slip on the same banana peel".
